Telders Moot 2020 canceled

Statement from the Telders Supervisory Board and the Telders Organizing Office

First of all, we very much hope that all of you are healthy and well despite all COVID-19 related restrictions to personal life which are in place in so many of our countries. Second, we regret to inform you that the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition 2020 has been canceled. The Telders Supervisory Board and Telders Organizing Office have been closely monitoring the situation regarding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID – 19) and is now following the recommendations from national authorities, which state that all restrictive measures in the Netherlands are in any case in place until 1 June. Due to the uncertainty that this brings, the organization of a moot court competition will not be possible. Moreover, the safety and well-being of all participants involved in the Competition are always our priority.
We realise that teams and their coaches have put months of work into preparing for the competition and we deeply regret that students will not be able to personally experience the oral pleadings in The Hague.
The written memorials will still be carefully reviewed by the International Board of Review. The memorial scores will still be collected and sent out to teams. The winners of the best memorials will be announced accordingly.
Meanwhile, we wish you all the best and we hope to meet you at the 2021 edition of the Telders Competition.
