The 14th session of the Summer School on International Criminal Law will be held in The Hague from the 20th of June to the 1st of July 2016. This summer school combines its unique location in The Hague with the quality of its contributors and participants, and therefore offers a wonderful and unique learning environment.
The Summer School welcomes about fifty participants from all over the world, and enables students and professionals from different regions and backgrounds to engage in discussions on the prospects and challenges of international criminal justice. Students at the International Criminal Law Summer School will be immersed in International Criminal Law during the two weeks they spend in The Hague. The lectures will deal with International Criminal Law in all its aspects, from substantive crimes (genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and aggression) to general principles (including modes of liability and the role of victims) to enforcement. The courses will be given by influential and well-known academics from Leiden University and leading professionals from the International Courts and Tribunals. After successful completion of this course, participants will have a solid understanding of international criminal law.
